Ritual In Every Stitch

ASATO brings forth a ritual in every stitch.

Not just in the act of sewing, but in the quiet deliberation of material. Our design philosophy is intentional; nothing is chosen at random. Every texture and fiber, a chapter in the story of human fragility, devotion, and transformation. Alongside the brand’s signature elements – dramatic drape, embracing wrap, and the 8-stitch design - the ultra-black wool and luxurious silk are not merely materials, but sacred relics.

1. ULTRA-BLACK WOOL
Not just black. Ultra black. A black that swallows the room. A black that remembers every single emotion. A black that carries philosophical and spiritual gravity. Sourced with reverence, in collaboration with Nishikawa Keori, spun until it became more than wool but a second skin—a monastery in motion.

2. SILK
The softness makes the silk even sharper. If the wool is armor, then silk is the soul laid bare. Cool against the skin and lightweight, allowing you to feel every ounce of air on your skin. It reminds the body that softness is not weakness. That vulnerability can be beautiful. The voice behind the garment—ASATO’s silk is often found close to the heart, whether lining a jacket, forming the collar of a coat, or slipping beneath the weight of wool.
